In this report, I went to the streets of Calgary, Alberta, Canada to ask ordinary Canadians what they think about comments made by Donald Trump suggesting that Canada could become the 51st state of the United States.
Recently, Trump has spoken about the possibility of the U.S. absorbing new territories, including Greenland, and even mentioned the idea of Canada becoming part of the United States. But what do Canadians actually think about this idea?
During this street interview report, I spoke with people in Calgary to hear their honest reactions. Many Canadians say they have never met anyone who wants Canada to become the 51st state, while others say the idea is simply unrealistic. Some residents also discussed the Alberta separatist movement, which has been gaining attention and calling for greater independence from the Canadian federal government.
