ASK DOC: DOES THE REMNANT PERSEVERE—OR CAN IT FALL AWAY?
Scripture presents both a preserved remnant and repeated warnings about falling away. How are these reconciled? Can someone truly belong to God and still be lost—or do these warnings expose something else entirely?
This episode examines the doctrine of the remnant through the full testimony of Scripture. Anchored in passages such as Romans 11:5 (KJV): “a remnant according to the election of grace,” John 10:28 (KJV): “they shall never perish,” and 1 John 2:19 (KJV): “they were not of us,” the study establishes a precise distinction between those who are preserved by God and those who only appear to belong.
The biblical pattern is consistent: the remnant is not self-sustained but kept by the power of God, and perseverance is not the cause of salvation but the evidence of it. Warnings about falling away are real—but they reveal false profession, not the loss of true possession.
This episode forces a necessary conclusion: the issue is not whether the remnant endures, but whether one’s faith is genuine.
