UN Security Council Discusses How to Achieve Peace in the Middle East

• The UN Security Council convened an open debate on 10 June 2026 on ways to advance peace in the Middle East with 70 States participating. • All participants considered that Israel's security and the rights of the Palestinian people must be dealt with together, within a negotiated framework and not in a logic of fait accompli — which does not mean that the responsibilities of the State of Israel and the non-State of Palestine must also be dealt with together (Negroponte doctrine). • (…)
